PRSMCAT PRESENTS
DAYDREAM FEST
(FOUNDER / PROMOTER)

In 2019, after booking many tours for my own bands Spooky Cool & Majjin Boo, I was hired to be the booker at a local Richmond, VA venue where I produced and promoted multiple high-quality indie rock events under the name PRSMCAT PRESENTS. Since 2019, I’ve roughly hosted 80-100 shows and gained the reputation for being one of the top show bookers in the city. In my first year of hosting events, my independent production company was voted in the top 3 live show series in the city only behind city-backed programming. After taking a break during the pandemic, I eventually started shows back up with a sponsorship from Jack Daniels and decided to produce my first large-scale festival called “DAYDREAM FEST” with all the top talent in the state including Butcher Brown w/ special guest Charlie Hunter and J. Roddy Walston’s band Palm Palm. The festival sold well over 1000 tickets and was voted the top music festival in Richmond, VA for 2022 by Style Weekly Magazine.

DROP THE CHARGES
(FOUNDER / CD / STRATEGY)

During the uprisings of 2020, I decided to use my experience in branding to create and lead a team of advertising activists to help put pressure on Richmond’s Commonwealth Attorney, Colette McEachin, to drop the charges on peaceful protestors and reopen the case of Marcus David-Peters. We worked closely with Richmond, VA activists and helped create digital/social media content that would help direct protestors to use their collective power to apply pressure on government officials such as the Commonwealth Attorney and members of City Council who had the greatest power to make changes in our city.

The results were huge. We made a splash with our digital social ad campaign and which was shared hundreds of times all over Richmond, VA and far beyond. Our content was reshared by groups such as the ACLU, Martin Agency, RVA Mag, and many others. We even decided to go one step further outside of digital and produced an OOH billboard outside the local detention center. Because of the campaign, we were interviewed by ABC and RVA Mag for our work.

After the success of the digital and billboard campaigns, we began to collaborate with LatinX led social activist group, “Free Them All”, whose mission is to help immigrants who had been captured by ICE. We worked with their team to create informative eye-catching content to put the spotlight on the for-profit detention center, “Immigration Centers of America”, in Farmville, VA who were unethically detaining immigrants. Our primary goal was to expose the inhuman conditions of the detention center and how those being held in their facilities were dying from covid with little to no medical attention.
